Ping Lian Yeak at the DAPA Inclusive Art Exhibition
NSW Parliament House | 3–26 June 2025 (weekdays 9-5 pm)

Celebrated autistic savant artist Ping Lian Yeak is honoured to be featured in the DAPA Inclusive Art Exhibition, held at NSW Parliament House from 3 to 26 June 2025. This important event highlights diversity, neurodiversity, and creativity through the powerful language of visual art.

This exhibition marks a special milestone in Ping Lian’s journey — the first public showing in Australia of his original 2005 artwork ‘05402 Rooster (Prosperous Year I)’, painted when he was just 11 years old. The piece is known for its vivid colours, intricate detail, and joyful energy, all hallmarks of Ping Lian’s distinctive style.

‘05402 Rooster’ has gained international acclaim, having been featured in numerous books, magazines, and newspapers. It was notably included in the Korean publication ‘Knowledge-e6’ by EBS (2011), alongside global icons such as Kim Peek, Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Warren Buffett, Charles Darwin, Pablo Neruda etc.

Ping Lian’s work continues to inspire audiences worldwide with his unique perspective and artistic brilliance.

About the Exhibition

The DAPA Inclusive Art Exhibition showcases an inspiring collection of works by neurodiverse and multicultural artists, inviting the public to engage with stories of talent, resilience, and passion. It celebrates diversity, neurodiversity, and inclusion, reflecting DAPA’s mission to promote equal opportunities for people living with disabilities.
Through this exhibition, artists demonstrate how creativity can transcend challenges, connect communities, and amplify underrepresented voices.

Featured Artists Include:

  • Bowman Yu – “Blatant Artist,” sharing bold, expressive depictions of Australian animals and people
  • Ping Lian Yeak – Autistic savant artist, internationally known for his vibrant harbour scenes and intricate animal illustrations
  • Janet Chuah (Malaysia), Masayo Colley (Japan), and Songshi Li 李松石 (China) – Multicultural artists offering their unique cultural perspectives
Bowman and Ping Lian, both of whom have faced developmental challenges, use art as a profound and personal mode of communication. Their intuitive brushwork and rich colour palettes transcend conventional techniques, offering raw and beautiful insight into how they see the world.

SHOWCASE artworks by PRODIGIOUS SAVANT ~ Ping Lian,Yeak autistic

A remarkable showcase by autistic prodigy, 17 year old Malaysian Yeak Ping Lian. There are
fewer than 100 prodigious savant living worldwide. Award winning Ping Lian is one of them.
“Prodigious Savant” is a high threshold term reserved for savants whose abilities are considered
phenomenal and labeled "genius" if seen in non-disabled persons. Savant syndrome is a
remarkable condition where individuals display exceptional abilities despite disorder like autism
or developmental retardation.

Ping Lian began drawing at age 8 and has not stopped ever since. He has exhibited throughout
New York City, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Brisbane, London and Germany. His use of colours and
his creation of intricate lines result in his signature style; images within images, encompassing
hidden aspects or forms not initially seen nor noticed. “They are national treasures wherever
they are located.” Dr. Darold A. Treffert, a renowned American psychiatrist, is also an
internationally known Researcher who has been studying the Savant Syndrome for the last
45 years.

It is a stunning reminder to the wonders and mysteries of life.
